Okay so as you guys know I love the Pop Goes Punk albums but if you don’t, know you do. I guess I love this covers so freaking much because as much as I hate to admit this, I used to be a big fan of pop music but after I got into rock, that addiction kind of chilled so now I like to listen to pop songs but not as pop as they originally are, hence the covers by the rock bands I like to listen to. I mean some pop songs are pretty good, it’s just that there’s no original lyrics or beats encompassed in that genre these days. Everything is filled with auto-tune and the copying of past artists and their songs which I the main reason why I don’t listen to that kind of music anymore. Like, if I’m going to listen to your song, then it better be worth listening to. I don’t want to be reminded of anything song that you copied from just to have a hit that a bunch of people will like. For me, that’s not really music, that’s plagiarism and I’m not going to listen to something of that nature. It’s why I love rock music so freaking much. Almost everything I’ve ever listened to is completely original and nothing really sounds the same; every band or group has their own sound and they faithfully stick to it, which I respect. Most of these bands don’t really care if their songs are popular or not, they just want to reach out to people with their music for that’s all that matters to them.
